Yes, plunge taken – the Education team are trialling a blog which we are calling “Education News.” This is intended to be a mixture of sectoral, college and Library news, a way of making the library a focal point for the community. We’ve avoided use of the word ‘blog’ in order not to scare the punters off, but we’ll see how it goes…

I remember visiting the Education Library back at the very beginning of the merger – and I was really impressed by the ‘portal’ you had for your staff home page. As I remember, you could leave messages on it for other staff members to check when they were on desk. It was a really good idea – to have an internal communication tool where you could leave messages for eachother. I guess this blog is somewhat similar to that original tool. I’ve always wanted something like that for us to use at MB – and we have finally got our own corner of the counterculture blog, too! Good luck with your blogging!
thanks Tim, it was sad to see someo f those old tools go but as you say, now we’re starting to get some of the same sort of functions back through these whcih everyone has access to so that has to be a good thing. Cheers, Glen
