I found this to be a good summary of academic uses for social software such as Wikis and social bookmarking, (Del-icio-us, Connotea, CiteULike).
The author Elyssa Kroski also blogs regularly at <a href="http://oedb.org/blogs/ilibr…">iLibrarian</a> (in addition to <a href=http://infotangle.blogsome….">Infotangle</a>, which is mentioned at the bottom of the Choice article) – there’s a lot of interesting stuff about library uses for new web applications like Twitter, Flickr, etc.
