If you have a “librc” training login please check it the day before you need it. If there are any problems, check with Peter or Donna. If a password needs to be reset, it takes between 10 minutes and an hour to become active.
If you intend to use a laptop that has not been connected to the network in the last few days, then, at least the day before, please plug it in to the network and leave it turned on for 2 – 3 hours. Reboot it and repeat the process. This should ensure all sets of upgrades are downloaded and installed thereby avoiding prompts during your teaching (there have been 26 updates over summer).
If you have a training room that has not been in regular use over summer, then, before the first training session, it would pay to turn the PCs on about an hour beforehand as some of these may also download updates with slower performance for a while after first being turned on. They don’t need to be logged in – just turned on.
A reminder that if you need Internet Enabler (e.g. you have used your staff login) it is in K:\library_IT\Applications\IEnabler.
