Since the change to allow borrowers to enter Username/Password for access to My Account, it is likely they will think of this combination as a Library ID as well. With this in mind, Library IT have added a new search at the bottom of Find Borrower in Horizon Circulation for Username. When a borrower rings in to make a renewal, you will now be able to search by this form of ID. They advise that it won’t be totally reliable. It probably will work well for students, but not necessarily for staff. If somebody has more than one username (e.g. as a student and a staffmember) this will only find one.

Library IT are interested in feedback after we have been using it for awhile. If too many gaps are found, they might be able to add a secondary lookup feature which would let us type in a username and would return a barcode to use within Horizon. Try it out!
