Please DO NOT renew interloans on Horizon.

The Central Library Interloans Team are the only staff able to do this as the Horizon renewal (while technically possible) is not effective as it is only the lending library who can grant an extension, and only Interloans staff who know which library to contact. There are also many items sent to us on Interloan that have a ‘no renewal’ restriction.

This item is being blogged as there was recently an occasion where 3 interloans were renewed on Horizon unbeknown to the Interloans Team. It was only when overdue notices with talks of fines were received from the lending library that the Horizon renewals were discovered – without the coding that the Interloans Team use to identify renewals they action.
