When you get an enquiry about a thesis, please check the catalogue with the borrower. If it is a PhD thesis there should be two copies, one of which is on the open shelves and borrowable. For a Masters thesis, there is only one copy which is available via the Special Collections reading room. Please ask the person to place a Horizon request on it – do not send them straight to the Special Collections reading room as it is unlikely that there there will be staff avaiblabe for on-the-spot retrievals. Requests are checked and retrieved twice a day. Also note that a thesis from the last two years will also be in Digital Library – there is a link directly to the digital copy on the library record, which users sometimes overlook.
