Project MUSE is planning a significant redesign to be launched in August 2008.
Some new features are already being be rolled out and all MUSE articles and Tables of Contents produced since mid-April appear in the new format and offer the new linked subject headings functionality.
- The appearance and layout of the article page have been enhanced to provide more functionality and more information specific to the article, such as its DOI and the LCSH assigned to an article.
- “clickable” subject headings for each article connect to related content in Project MUSE
By simply clicking on a subject heading, users can move from subject to subject, article to article, exploring topics and articles related to their search topic.
Older articles will be gradually converted to the new look over the next 18 months. Currently, the new format applies only to the HTML version of articles; a new PDF format will launch with the main site design in August.
