We have had occasional reports of borrowers not receiving etxt messages. One reason for this could be that the mobile phone number is not entered correctly in Horizon. If you talk with a borrower who has not received an etxt when they would have expected one, please ask them to log into My Account in HIP, and check their phone numbers on the Profile page. If the numbers are wrong, they should click on the link to “UC Student Web” and correct the number there. This will then flow on to Horizon and etxts should be sent to them from then on.
Note that there is a preferred order when sending etxts. If a borrower has more than one mobile number listed, we only send one message in this order:
m – mobile
mt – mobile, term
mp – mobile, permanent
