Kia ora koutou

To celebrate Maori Language Week the library hosted the opening of Te Wiki o te Reo Maori this morning in the Central Library. There was a grand turnout of staff and students at the opening and paramanawa (morning tea). Kia ora to all the library staff who attended, and who came and learnt the waiata over the last couple of weeks. (We will have to find another occasion to sing our second one that we didn’t get to sing this morning).

This week is a great opportunity for us all to start learning Te Reo Maori, but also to promote it and support others who are learning.
