The outage is starting at 4 pm today and going through to Thursday 4th (at the latest).
Since the Library will not have access to Diebold during this period, we will have to override fine blocks (of whatever size or age) during the outage. Please, however, make it clear to the borrowers WHY we are doing this and that the fines have not gone away but will have to be paid later.
The same applies to persons with lost books EXCEPT when there is a Registry invoice involved – I’m advised that the Cashiers will be able to process payments still.
Lending cannot process any Request for Remote Payment either. We will collect the forms for processing on Friday 5th September and place an Alert Block on each borrower record to advise that payment will be delayed and fines overridden.
