Changes to storage requests

During this week there will be some changes made to storage collections to improve requesting processes.

1. The storage request link will be removed from monographs housed in the Warehouse and Law Basement. All requests should be placed through Horizon (or HIP), and not via the storage request form.

2. There will be duplicate collections created for Warehouse and Law Basement journals – the duplicate collection will have a storage request form link and the original collection won’t:
zwj – warehouse journals with no link. These are fully barcoded serial titles that should be requested through Horizon.
zwj2 – warehouse journals with a Storage Request Form link. This collection is for serials that are not fully barcoded or have serial dummy records. They should be requested via the form.
zlj – law basement journals without a link.
zlj2 – law basement journals with a link to the form.

Initially, all journals will be shifted into the duplicate collections, and then gradually moved back into the original collections as entire titles are barcoded or identified as barcoded.

We will move all of the records into the duplicate codes on Thursday, and the links to the storage request form will be removed from monographs by Friday. There shouldn’t be any disruption to storage reports and the storage request program, but please report any problems to Library IT.

  1. We’ve decided to push this forward to today. We’ll start moving the serials into duplicate collection codes, and the Storage Request Form links should be updated overnight.
