I have sent a message to the support people at LibGuides, reporting that we are experiencing some quite major issues with speed, and the failure of some edits to work.
I’ll let you know of their response, but please keep reporting problems to Library IT. It would be particularly useful to get more details of the exact problems you are having, and whether you think that they are worse this year since the upgrade to LibGuides.

Springshare have replied – keen to help but unsure of the problem, and asking for specific examples. I have forwarded some that have been reported to me. Please keep them coming.
They are also asking other libraries to see if anyone else is experiencing problems.
They comment that it could be "a temporary network delay between your network and the server hosting facility where we have our servers" which could well be the case!

I’ve run a number of tests on advice from SpringShare, and been in contact with AUT who report no problems with LibGuides. All of this seems to indicate that the problems we are having with LibGuides is related to connectivity problems from our site to LibGuides.
I will report this to ICTS today and will do my best to indicate the urgency of the problem, especially in relation to the fact that the College of Education academic year starts in just over a fortnight.

It would appear that we are not having the same problems with LibGuides today! Which is good, but makes it almost impossible to work out what was wrong over the past few days.
So we are now in a waiting phase, to see if it goes wrong again. Please let Library IT know if you do have similar problems again.
