EPIC – Electronic Purchasing In Collaboration is a shared initiative of New Zealand libraries. (http://epic.org.nz/nl/epic.html).
EPIC’s vision is to provide access to high quality full-text information electronically for all New Zealanders.
The provision of high quality electronic content for all New Zealanders through their libraries is an enabler which supports the New Zealand Digital Strategy.
There are currently over 185 members of EPIC with the consortium run from an office hosted by The National Library of New Zealand as the lead agency. The EPIC Manager plays a key role in managing the relationships important to the success of the consortium: governance group members, collaborative partners, stakeholders as well as maintaining vendor relationships.
The EPIC Manager must be a champion of the Consortium, managing the EPIC office. This requires experience in staff management, taking a lead in promoting the service and highlighting its value to users.
We are seeking an innovative individual with drive and energy to work as the EPIC Manager. Most importantly the appointee must have the ability to work collaboratively with external stakeholder groups and vendors to ensure the continued sustainability, relevancy and growth of EPIC. The Manager will also have proven experience in the library sector with graduate qualifications to match.
The National Library of New Zealand, as the lead agency hosts the EPIC office.
