With Catherine’s help I managed to insert the image from the existing subject guides into the welcome box – this will eliminate another box on the home page. Here’s some instructions:
1. Click on the image icon (picture of a tree)
2. Click to upload the file from Baldrick
3. Find file & click to select it
4. Alignment – use the drop down menu to select top, bottom, left, right etc.
5. To position text, click on the image and use the left & right arrows

I’ve done this on the ESOL and German LibGuides – both on the home-page and the journals pages. I think the use of images improves LibGuides greatly.
