We are starting to make good progress on the conversion of Camelot to a wiki. All the static html Camelot pages will be converted this year. Once a page is in the wiki any staff member will be able to update content although it would be good practice to consult before you make a large change. Dreamweaver is not required to edit content in the wiki.
As with all changes we are learning as we go how best to do things
– Avoid duplicating content on the wiki, link to the most appropriate page instead. If the original needs a small change for your branch then add it in. If the page has not been converted, email Library IT. You can link to a Camelot file. We can fix these links later.
– Library IT are creating the top pages in the wiki. If a link appears in red then that section has not yet been converted.
– Be careful naming pages as that name can only be used once in the wiki. If someone did a search would they expect that page based on that title.
– Library IT are still working on some of the branding and navigation issues. In general wikis tend to have less navigation than static websites as they are less hierarchical to start with.
– If you are unable to access the Camelot wiki pages, please email Library IT

Engineering Library is in the process of copying across our files from our old staff manual wiki. The idea is that if something is specific to Engineering Library, we’ll append (EL) to the title, but we might miss some to start with in the conversion process. Once we’ve got the content in we’ll tidy up the formatting, but in the meantime if you come across a page whose title you want for a more generic page then let us know and we’re happy to rename it — or if you come across a page which you think could be used cross-branch then feel free to edit to suit.

Oh! One FAQ from here – can there please be a link to the wiki somewhere prominent on ur-Camelot? It’s awkward navigating in from the public Endnote space. Cheers,
Deborah
There’s now a link to Camelot Wiki at the bottom of the Quick Links.

Thanks Donna!
