Fixed Term (April 2009 – November 2009)
Part-Time (14 Hours per Week, .37 FTE)

The University of Canterbury Library is seeking a flexible and enthusiastic part-time Library Assistant who will be based in the Education Library which is one of the six branch libraries at the University of Canterbury.

The position is responsible for providing lending and other public services for the University Library. This position is based primarily in the Education Library and there is an expectation that you will be available to work in any of the branch libraries on campus.

You will possess previous experience with automated library systems and be proficient in the knowledge of library procedures. You will demonstrate a commitment to delivering an outstanding service to customers and have a positive attitude towards continuous improvement. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be the type of person that thrives in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career in the Library profession.

The normal work schedule for this position is as follows:

Sunday 10:00am – 5:00pm (6.5 hours)
Monday 1:00pm – 5:00pm (4 hours)
Wednesday 10:00am – 1:30pm (3.5 hours)
