Discussion between JadeSMS Manager, College Administrators and the Library has resulted in the following compromise for the 800 students affected by a change in their status. The change will not be reversed, however, JadeSMS Manager is sending the following email to all affected students in 31 different Graduate Diploma courses:
“Dear student
As a result of an audit of our Student Management System, it was found that students enrolled in Graduate Diplomas had incorrectly been assigned postgraduate library lending privileges. This has now been corrected.
This means that rather than borrowing up to 50 items at a time, for a standard loan period of 60 days (subject to the item being recalled for another borrower), you are entitled to borrow up to 25 items at a time, for a standard loan period of 14 days. Interloans will not be funded by your department.
If you currently have more than 25 items out, you will be unable to borrow more until you are within the lower quota. Items already issued on long term loan will still be due on the original date, but can be recalled if requested.
We apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused by this error.”
