Please note that when a user wishes to renew an Interloan the actual item must NOT be returned.
Interloan staff will renew the item on Horizon and then contact the lending library. There is often a delay before the lending library responds and the user can continue to use the Interloan until the lending library requires it back. Interloan staff will communicate with the user if a renewal request is not granted.
There have been several instances recently where users have returned Interloans and then requested a renewal – but it was too late as they were already on their way back to the lending library.
