Interloan staff will no longer scan requests for copies/loans to your library Outlook inbox

Over the weekend Interloans discovered there is a problem with scanning to Outlook addresses. Backlogs can build up and it may take several days for these scanned items to turn up in an inbox. We cannot take the chance of this happening, or spend the time monitoring to see if this a problems.

I propose that the Interloan requests we send to you, to either scan a copy to the ‘I’ drive (and there are no problems doing that apparantly), or to send an item to us in the Hamper (theses etc. that we have not been able to request from you through IBDS), are now sent through to your Fax. machine.

This would mean:
– that your Fax machine would need to be regularly monitored
– that communication back to us about a request could be by regular email but would be best by return fax. with comments noted on the original request sent to you by fax. Our internal fax number is: 6898

Could you please all email me to confirm that this arrangement is acceptable; giving me your fax number?

Until I have your fax number we will have to request from you by sending a regular email to your workroom email account.

MB – this will not suit you as your fax machine is downstairs. Regular emails will have to be used by both of us.

Look forward to hearing from you all soon. Thanks.
