JSTOR
Next month JSTOR will introduce a new “faceted search” feature which will offer options to expand and refine search results.
“Faceted searching and search results will allow you to easily visualize how the returned articles are distributed among categories, or “facets.” For instance, with faceted search you can see how many of your results are in each discipline, how many are book reviews or full-length articles, and how many articles contain images, among other options. You’ll be able to modify your search results by choosing specific facets, and all search results pages will now incorporate the facets sidebar to make modifications easier.”
Screenshots of the new functionality have been posted on JSTOR’s Facebook page.
ProjectMUSE
Two new journals are available on ProjectMUSE:
• Harvard Journal of Asiatic Studies
• Western American Literature
These will be in the Journals page next week and in the Catalogue mid-July.
ProQuest
The following enhancements will be available next week:
• MLA Citation Format Change – citation generator is being updated to reflect the MLA documentation style found in the seventh edition.
• Full-Text linking with Google Scholar – links to ProQuest full-text content when searching Google Scholar (we already have this functionality via Article Linker)
• Author Naming Adjustments – in citation generator, author names will be presented in Last Name, First Name format. This change reflects content from 2007 moving forward and will be added to archival content over time.
In order to make these changes, ProQuest will be unavailable 2 pm to 2 am Sun/Mon 28/29 June.
