ProQuest is holding a session on PQ 5000 and its value to subject librarians, academics and research staff. The session will cover the content within PQ, outline the value of key specialized content and “what’s new” for future collection growth.
Session date and time: Tuesday September 15th, 2 – 4.30pm Level 5 Training room
• 2.00 – 2.20 Natural Science (incl Health Science) & Technology (CSA Sci suite e.g Biology, Environmental Sci, PQ Medical Databases, CSA High Technology e.g. Engineering, Materials Research, Aerospace)
• 2.25 – 2.45 History & Historical Periodicals (Colonial State Papers, Digital National Security Archives, Annual Register, HCPP, Periodical Archives Online, British Periodicals, Historical Newspapers)
• 2.50 – 3.15 General Reference (PQ 5000 – will cover PQ Central if sufficient comparison interest)
• 3.20 – 3.40 Commerce (to include Business, Finance e.g PQ Entrepreneurship, Business Content in PQ5000 & Central, Factiva)
• 3.45 – 4.10 Arts & Humanities (Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI), ArtBIB Modern, Avery Index to Architecture, International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP), Index to Film Periodicals (FIAF), Periodical Archives Online)
The aim of the session is to showcase what we have and the value of the content, along with an overview on whats new and what could be considered for rounding out the collection in the future. Please be sure to extend this invitation to Academic and research staff. People can come and go based on interest.
