APA have released the APA 6th style and this is now available in EndNote. There is a minor problem:
– The new reference list guidelines state that when there are 8 or more authors, the reference should list the first 6 authors and then … before the last author. EndNote APA 6th is adding et al. in the Reference List.
Until LibraryIT are able to make these modification, users will have to manually make this change.
Unfortunately I could not see a way to do this. I asked Endnote and apparently this change is not yet possible; their comment:
"The 6th Edition of the style guide includes a very unique formatting option for authors in section 6.27 of the manual. When a reference includes more than eight authors the first six authors’ names are inserted, then an elipses (…) followed by the last authors name. EndNote is currently unable to format authors in this way, however, our development department is working on a solution."
I have just noticed that APA 6th will format a "personal communication " entry. This is a first ! Great.
