Retemplating the Library’s web site

You’ll probably have noticed that an increasing number of departments, colleges and schools have had their websites retemplated now, to a design that has more width, a different header and colour scheme and slightly larger font on lower level pages.

Our pages will be done at the end of the year.

This is such a major change that it couldn’t be done during term time. While we did investigate the possibility of doing it in the semester break, we ran out of time. It is a major job, especially as our site is large and complex, which requires careful planning and testing. The changes will be incremental – our main pages will change first, but other pages such as the dynamically driven pages (database lists, online bookings etc), the blogs and the wiki will happen later.

It should be possible to see examples of the pages before it all goes live. I will be seeking feedback when there is something to look at.
