At the Project Control Group meeting this week the focus was on ICTS and their attempts to find a replacement area for the Cave. They and FM are continuing to negotiate for a replacement space. Planning documentation has been submitted with the Christchurch City Council and the plans for the changes to the roof of the Engineering Library will be submitted next week. It was noted that we were all waiting for the UC Council decision on the plans, which would be made at a Council meeting on Wednesday 30th September.

The Library was informed on Thursday morning that the Council had passed the plans for the Engineering Library. Both the plans for Stage one, to be completed February 2010, and the plans for Stage 2, to be completed February 2011, have been agreed too.

Staff from both the Engineering and Physical Sciences Libraries marked the chages to the Engineering Library stock with cake and champagne on Wednesday afternoon. Thanks to Dawn for organising this event.
