Serials Solutions has just made changes to the way their E-Journal Portal (the Journals page on the Library Web) can display. Instead of having the long list of databases at the bottom of the page, we can have a drop-down list:
Selecting a database results in a link to connect to that database, along with any applicable public notes and terms of use links.
I would like to propose that we change our page accordingly. Please add your thoughts…

The "Please select a database" bit must also be relevant to the Databases page. (currently an A-Z arrangement).
Do they also have a pull-down menu for journal titles?
I think it would be very good to have a select box rather than the long list of databases, as long as it was clear exactly what these databases were. I don’t think a heading "Databases A-Z" describes this, and would be too confusing with our list of Databases A-Z – it’s a different list.
If we could have the dropdown box following our current heading "Go directly to the database or journal publisher’s website" then I think it’s a good idea, but if it has to have the Databases A-Z heading, then I don’t think we should use it.

Yes, the current heading would remain, with the drop-down list beneath it
