Work has started in the Library warehouse by staff from Crown to move stock into offsite storage. We also have some casual employees who are working with Tim O’Sullivan and Janette Nicole to barcode serials.
If these staff are working in an area that you need to access or if you need them to move out from the stacks then please politely let them know your needs. These staff are not aware of our normal routines to get bookstock out of the warehouse.
It is likely that staff will be working in the warehouse over the next three weeks as stock is moved out to Crown and moved in from Central.
If you have any concerns regarding the staff working in the warehouse then please let me know.

All Central classifications I assume?
All catalogued monographs in the Warehouse are going to Crown. The Law Basement has serials within the classification ranges J-K, QA-QD and S-T. Serials outside these ranges will be in the Warehouse. Serials going to Crown are ones that have secure online access, ideally for their entire span, and are being sourced from Central Library and the Warehouse.
So they’ll be requestable?
Yes, this is what the barcoding flurry is about. Material in storage areas other than SCR (including Crown)is requestable. The only exception is the standards which have gone into temporary storage in LB.
So it is "barcoded" rather than "catalogued"? There seemed to be quite a few old books over there catalogued but not barcoded and sometimes they were on the catalogue though this has probably changed since.
Is there a turnaround time if somebody were to ask at the desk?
