This is a preliminary warning that early next week the Library’s website will be frozen, meaning that for the time it is frozen, any updates will have to come through Library IT. This is so we can start the retemplating process, which will be finalised early next year. In practical terms, this means that access to the local version of the website (O:/Baldrick) will be limited to Library IT – no-one else will be able to access, edit and upload these pages. There will still be full access to the subject pages on LibGuides.

The retemplating will be a gradual process, beginning with all the pages that have .shtml at the end of the url. Most of the dynamic pages (have .php at the end of the url), such as the lists of databases, will be done at a later stage.

If you have any major updating to do, please do it this week, or leave it until the site is unfrozen early next year. If this is going to cause difficulties, please contact me ASAP.
