Library Assistant Vacancy
Fixed Term 12 Months (March2010 – April 2011)
Full Time (37.5 Hours per Week, 1 FTE)
The University of Canterbury Library is seeking a flexible and enthusiastic full-time Library Assistant who will be based in the Law Library which is one of the five branch libraries at the University of Canterbury. There is an expectation that you will be available to work in any of the branch libraries on campus.
You will possess previous experience with automated library systems and be proficient in the knowledge of library procedures. You will demonstrate a commitment to delivering an outstanding service to customers and have a positive attitude towards continuous improvement. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be the type of person that thrives in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career in the Library profession.
The normal work schedule for this position is as follows:
Monday – 9.00am – 5:30pm (1 hour lunch 7.5 hours)
Tuesday – 9.00am – 5:30pm (1 hour lunch 7.5 hours)
Wednesday – 9.00am – 5:30pm (1 hour lunch 7.5 hours)
Thursday – 1.00pm – 9.00pm (30 min meal break 7.5 hours)
Friday – 8.00am – 4:30pm (1 hour lunch 7.5 hours)
Some flexibility of the start and finish times can be negotiated.
