The 2010 Conference for LIANZA is to be held in Dunedin, 28 November to 1 December.
Staff interested in attending, and who have already indicated this in their current PD&R, should discuss this with their manager, and forward to me their request to attend, and supporting documentation from their manager.
Please bear in mind the Library SOP “Library support for LIANZA” and the relevant section,
“The Library will pay the LIANZA members rate for attendance at LIANZA professional development events and LIANZA Conferences. Library staff who are not members of LIANZA will pay the balance between the member and non-member rate, unless for some reason the Library requires the staff member to attend the event .”
Follow this link for further information on the Conference. Registration is not yet available.
When registration is available, and numbers and names of those the Library will support to attend are confirmed, all registration, travel and accommodation arrangements are to be made through Maureen.

Please note that Early BIrd registration closes on 30 September. I am going to be on leave then, and would like to have Library staff who have requested to attend this conference, given approval to register, along with starting the process for travel and accommodation in place before the end of this week. I have only received 1 specific request to attend to date.
Philip
A further update:
To date the Library will be supporting the following staff to attend LIANZA Conference.
Tim Stedman (Collections)

Can these three liaise with Maureen about registering online – PRIOR to 30th September). Liaise with Mauree about obtaining a UC p-card (needed for paying minor travel expenses). And liaise with Maureen so that she can make travel and accommdation arrangements.
