Most eBook packages have now been activated, and can be accessed via the links on the New Electronic Resources Page or the eBook Collections page. Please note that Summon does not index all of these resources, so in many cases you will need to go directly to the eBook package to search. However, we are working to get MARC records for most of these resources which will eventually provide more access via Summon.
Ebrary titles are not yet available, even though they can be found in Summon. We are waiting to hear back from the supplier. Once activated, the records in Summon should link straight through to the full-text.
Wiley eBooks have also not been activated yet, and shouldn’t appear in Summon until they are activated.
The following resources have been activated, but are either not indexed in Summon, or the links won’t work until we have the Serials Solutions eBook service – you may see the message “This book is not available online”:
– Taylor & Francis eBooks
– Palgrave Macmillan
– SAGE Reference Online
– Emerald eBooks
– Gale Cengage
– Elsevier
– Blackwell Reference Online
– CRCnetBASE
Wiley eBooks are now available – about 9000 titles. Access them through Wiley Online Library and filter by books. They won’t be available in Summon yet (hopefully by Monday)

The extra ebrary titles are now available. There are 2 records in the Catalogue and on the Databases-E and eBooks pages. The extra titles (approx 50,000) are available until the end of the year via ebrary Academic Complete.
They won’t appear in Summon yet
Deirdre
ebrary titles are now appearing in Summon. Having two different ebrary sites means that you may get an interim "Welcome to ebrary" screen. This has 2 clearly labelled sections: "Libraries that have the document you want" and "Libraries that don’t have the document you want", so it should be obvious which link to click. The extra titles appear with the link "University of Canterbury Library -AC Trial." In most cases this screen won’t appear – only once you have visited both of the ebrary sites will you see it.
Deirdre
From a Multisearch search which advised that it had the fulltext for a book, I got the following from Ebrary:
We see that you have visited the following institutions before, and that they do not have access to the title you have requested. You may recommend that they acquire this document, if you like:
•University of Canterbury Library
What does this mean??
Bronwyn, you should also be seeing some text on the same screen that says:
"Libraries that have the document you want:
Under normal circumstances, we would take you straight to the document you requested.
Unfortunately, for some reason, our method is not able to associate you with your subsidizing institution.
Please choose from the following options to view the document and help reduce the chance that you encounter this message again.
• University of Canterbury Library -AC Trial"
This message is due to the fact that we now have 2 ebrary sites – one for our purchased ebooks, and one for the temporary ebooks collection that has been provided for free. Please advise users to always choose the link that appears under "Libraries that have the document you want", not the one under "Libraries that don’t have the document you want".
This morning we have also discovered that users who have never visited ebrary before are being logged directly into the wrong ebrary site without being offered a choice. In this instance, they will probably only have access to a trial version of the ebook that won’t let them view the full-text beyond the first page of Chapter 1. We have to investigate this problem further, and see if there’s a way around it. In the meantime, if you have students encountering this problem, please ask them to check the URL.
The site that will work for purchased ebooks is:
http://site.ebrary.com/lib/…
The site that will work for free ebooks (which will be the vast majority of titles) is:
http://site.ebrary.com/lib/…

Serials Solutions are fixing the incorrect linking of ebrary records – the fix should be live "tomorrow".
This won’t stop the intermediary ebrary page from appearing – users who have visited both of our ebrary sites will still be directed to this page and asked to choose the correct link.

I seem to be being logged automatically into the wrong one; the message I get there is:
—
System under maintenance.
The part of the system you attempted to access is currently undergoing upgrades or maintenance.
Please try again later.

Manually editing the link from the Serials Solutions page seems to work.
Deborah
Ebrary records seem to be linking to the correct URL now, but please report any further problems.
Thanks,
Donna
