The Summon (MultiSearch) webinar session is confirmed for Wednesday 8th December at 1pm in the Library Committee Room. It will be led by a trainer from the Serials Solutions Library Support team, and is aimed at working with staff to get the best out of Summon for our users. If you have any questions that you would like Mike to address, please email them to me or put them in a Counterculture comment, and I will ensure that he gets them. All staff are very welcome. Please also let me know if you are planning to attend so I can organize the room.

Any updates from Mike regarding linking from Summon through to Ebsco content, and getting any Summon usage stats for Ebsco databases might be of interest to us.

Just a note: Serials Solutions does not yet provide statistics for Summon usage, but you can see stats for EBSCO databases on Camelot http://wiki.canterbury.ac.n…
360 Link (Article Linker) is set up for our EBSCO databases and we have records in our Catalogue for EBSCO eBooks. Summon uses these sources to provide links to EBSCO content, so I think we are pretty much covered there. (Only thing is Summon sees eBooks as ‘books’ and we get a Check Availability link for these)

Summon usage statistics are coming soon (supposed to be December) and will include:
– Number of visits per day
– Number of searches per day
– Average number of searches per visit
– List of top queries
– List of top facets
– List of referring sources
– Map of user locations
– List of web browsers
– List of operating systems
– List of IP addresses accessing the system
They haven’t said anything about usage stats for specific databases.
