The fence around the Central Library has been erected because of the concern that in further earthquakes or strong windows a window frame could work loose and fall to the ground.

Some windows in the James Hight building have been marked with an X. These windows are NOT to be opened.

We have been asked to ensure that when staff open the OK windows that they try to ensure that a few are open on each side of the building, rather than all on one side of the building. Please do not however open all the OK windows at once.

There is great concern regarding the state of the windows so please follow the above request.
