Te Puna problems continue

**As of Monday night**

Good evening Client users

We are still working hard on the access problem, but do not expect to have a solution this evening.

In the meantime, and until we advise that all is well, we suggest your library uses WebCat http://webcat.natlib.govt.nz/ . If you no longer know your logon – please get in touch.

Again, apologies for this continued lack of service.

Kind regards
Ruth

  1. Update at 10.30 on Tuesday:
The National Library is aware that the Client is still problematic. This has been caused by an unfortunate combination of events.

The NL technical team will meet at midday today and work through the best way to re-establish your service.

In the meantime, the advice to revert to WebCat still stands until we let you know that the Client has fully recovered.

  2. Update at 2pm Tuesday

The National Library technical team has just met about the continuing problems Client users have been experiencing.

As I mentioned in the previous email, the problem is complex, but we are optimistic that they will be able to be fixed by tomorrow morning.

There are essentially two problems, the first relates to the upgrade. Then those problems have been compounded by the National Library databases having experienced heavy unauthorised usage from outside New Zealand.

There are resolutions for both issues. These will be implemented tonight and we hope that full service will be resumed tomorrow morning.

As far as cataloguing goes we believe it is possible to use the Client if you continue to save records and not leave the work unattended for a period. We realise this is not satisfactory so you may prefer to use WebCat in the interim.
