Education Library does not have dvd equipment capable of playing dvd’s that are not Region 4 (i.e. Australasia). Do any of our libraries have dvd equipment able to play, in particular, Region 2 (Japanese/Chinese) dvd’s or is there somewhere else they can go on campus to do this?
Student PCs can play any region DVD using the video software VLC. (Apples can’t – their DVD drives are in effect hard-coded to a single region.)
Some DVD players can be turned into multi-region players by following instructions in the manual or on the manufacturer’s website.
