We’re currently trialling a possible replacement service for AskLIVE, since Meebo are slowly abandoning their public chat rooms. The service we’re trialling is called LibraryH3lp, which is quite similar to Meebo, but offers more functionality, including chat transfers, queues, chat widgets for individuals or subject areas, and statistics and reports.

If anyone would like to test the service to see what it is like, please email eservices@libr.canterbury.ac.nz for an account. A few of us in the group will try to remain logged in as much as possible so there will usually be someone to test with. Please pass on any comments you have about the service to myself, Kathryn Andrews, Deborah Fitchett, Janette Nicolle or Erin Kimber.
