This is a list of the messages that will appear on the RFID Self Check machines. These can be changed on a location by location basis and this is probably something Joan and Barbara may coordinate when time allows e.g. ‘Service desk’ or ‘Circulation desk’ or ‘Lending desk’ etc.
- Address correction requested. Please go to a service desk.
- Unknown barcode. Try again & if problem continues ask at a Service Desk.
- Your borrowing has been blocked. Please go to a service desk.
- There is a problem with your record. Please go to a Service Desk.
- Checkout successful.
- Your card has expired. Please go to a Service Desk.
- Unknown item. Please go to a Service Desk.
- Item not for self issue. Please go to a Service Desk.
- There is a problem with this item. Please go to a Service Desk.
- This item is on hold. Please go to a Service Desk.
- Lost card. Please go to a Service Desk.
- You have reached a borrowing limit. Please go to a Service Desk.
- Your record has not been approved. Please go to a Service Desk.
- This item is already issued to you.
If you see any other error messages I would appreciate it if you let me know. Some (e.g. “There is a problem with this item”) are very general and we may be able to produce more helpful error messages with some testing.

Shouldn’t this advise them to change it online rather than come to a service desk where we can’t do anything?
"This item is on hold" – maybe clarify the jargon to "on hold for another borrower"?
