Recalled items – in Earthquake damaged or inaccessible buildings

Library E-Services have added a new item status to Horizon for those recalled items that need to be ‘parked’ because they are in Earthquake damaged buildings or cannot be retrieved at the moment. This link can only be used for items that have not already reached the ‘Lost’ status as we know it.

The Wiki links are already in place, (under the heading section ‘Earthquake resources’ and ‘Change status to leq’), but please wait until Peter K gives us the all clear to use it.

For items that are clearly irretrievable and recalled – but not yet ‘Lost’:
In the Wiki ‘Earthquake resources’ section, select ‘Change status to leq’. Enter the barcode of the item affected. The status of the item on the borrower’s record will then change to ‘Earthquake-Lost or not retrievable’. This will not remove the underlying request.

For items that have already reached the Lost status:
Record the requestor’s details; then delete the request. Check the item in, and re-issue it to the original borrower; re-place the original request; then change the status as above to the new ‘leq’ status.

In either case please add an Alert Block to borrower’s record noting the status has been changed .

Thanks, Sandra
