eResources Updates

A few recent changes and additions –

For news about MEDLINE, ProQuest and Summon enhancements, free resources from IOP, SAGE, ebrary and others, as well as competitions…

Ovid MEDLINE
We now have access to MEDLINE on OvidSP. Our access includes Medline and Medline In-Process & Other Non-Indexed Citations (previously called PREMEDLINE) 1948 to present. More information

ProQuest Enhancements
You can now view your selected records before adding them to your My Research account. Simply, run your search, mark your records and click View Selected Items. Then you can view your list, email, print, cite, export, save, or delete items without adding them to your My Research account. See more

Summon Enhancements
Summon support for native German searching has been developed:
• ä, ö and ü can be searched for as ae, oe, and ue
• ß can be searched for as ss
• Stemming allows searching for either the singular form or the plural form of most nouns
• Compound terms can be searched for in their decompounded form, for example:
a search for ‘Behandlungsanlage’ or ‘Abwasseranlage’ will find a document containing the term Abwasserbehandlungsanlage.
• Relevancy improvements enable documents with the exact form of the search terms to be ranked higher than the alternate/derived forms.
• Intelligent stop word handling of German stop words, for example:
“und der Dichter” will return relevant results even though “und” and “der” are stop words in the German language
