Keyword indexes OK Monday morning, after overnight restart of HIP. We will keep an eye on them today, and if they become unreliable will rebuild them. This process makes them unavailable for some time, so we avoid it unless it is really necessary.
Update 9.25am
We are reindexing now. Hopefully this will fix anomolies in the catalogue.
However the indexes will only be rebuilt progressively, so it may be sometime before all is well.
hi E-services. Yesterday we made the decision to email you rather than call Peter when we discovered the problem with the catalogue, as it was only 40 mins until closing time. Would you prefer to be called next time (if there is a next time) to give you more time to re-index?

Peter says yes please about the catalogue problems. It’s a 24/7 service, and we often do the reindexing after hours anyway.
The catalogue reindexing process has been run, and all appears to be back to normal. Please let eservices know ASAP if you find any more errors.
could these index problems have influenced multi-search? just had a borrower complain that it hasn’t been as useful for his searches for the last month or so – he was asking if there had been any changes to multi-search

These indexes are not used by Multi-Search. We need more detail to identify the problems he is having. Please encourage borrowers to email e-services with any issues that they have. Thanks Anne
