Central Library Update 8 Feb

The following document will be included in this weeks Intercom and is on the library Web page.
Central Feb Update Please direct students and staff to this message.

Level 11 It has been confirmed this morning that Level 11 will be closed to the Library Community from Monday 13 February. Some stock will be moved on Friday afternoon as the Hawkins team trial the process. The shelving from this floor will be removed from the building however it is likely that the furniture will be stored somewhere within the building. It is likely that some of it tables will be stored on a balcony and then covered for protection from the weather.

The Den The computers in the Den have now been upgraded and the datashow is operational. Bookings for groups can be made via the link book a room or equipment on the library webpage.

North West stairs The stairs between level 2 and level 5 on the north west stairwell are able to be used by staff to get to and from the staffroom. Contractors will continue to be working in this area over the next couple of weeks so please take care. Contractors have been asked to leave the stairwells as accessible as possible. They are plastering around the new window frames.

Teams providing Service from Level 2 In addition to the Library and ICT staff on level 2 we now have staff promoting the following services. Canterbury Card, Health Services, International Enrolments and the Recreation Centre. The desk selling car parking permits is meant to be set up on the space between level 1 and 2 at the entrance to the James Hight Building.

Library Tours Library tours are starting in the Central Library from 16 February at which time I hope the noise of construction and equipment is at a low. There is a big push by the contractors to have the Undercroft Phase 2 completed by 17 Feb.
