From Friday the Q: drive is probably going to be the R: drive. This is because Windows 7 reserves the Q: drive for other purposes and it cannot be used for general network drives.
As an aside, now might be a good time to review your files in this drive as it has grown rather large and convoluted – anything no longer needed should be deleted.
Thanks, Peter
Looking at Q:drive I notice a lot of folders that don’t seem to belong to particular individuals. Given that Q was intended as a scratch drive (so unattended files would be prone to deletion) I wonder if the people who put these there are intending for them to be kept or deleted?

hi deborah. lending use some folders e.g. discontinued with problems; distance service agreements; suspended students; so that many individuals can easily edit documents from various locations. Q aka R is easier to use than K for this as K directories seem to be constantly changing and are just a mess to look at.
