new report for weeding serials

Hi all

We have created a new report that allows staff to wand in barcodes of journals and directly change their status to ‘weedj’ on the catalogue (it can be used instead of scanning and sending barcode files to e-services, handy if you’ve only got a few journals to throw out).

The report is called Change status from i,s,z to weedj – serials only and can be found in the same place as the monograph version on the “Weeding” Horizon reports page on Camelot. The report changes the item status from ‘in library’ or ‘recently returned’ to ‘weedj’, which will ensure the it goes through the correct serial weeding process (copy records will be tidied up and the item will be depreciated if eligible). On the catalogue the item will show as ‘item for deletion’.
Given the current volume of weeded serials, it is likely the items will stay on the catalogue for some time before they are deleted.

If you want to weed serials that have stati other than in library/recently returned, please contact LSS or e-services.

Kind Regards

Romy (on behalf of e-services)
