Social Media-Communicating with our users

You may have noticed the Twitter icon on the Library’s home page. Yes, we finally have a Twitter account, which the Marketing Group is working on promoting to our users.

Twitter, Facebook and Library News are used to communicate with our users:
• new resources,
• library initiatives
• changes to hours
• displays and exhibitions
• and to highlight and promote existing resources, services and facilities.

Big thank you to Margaret, Beth and Lydia for agreeing to be on the social media group.
If you have something you want promoted, for instance a library course, a new resource or an exhibition please send one of us a short post.

Thank you
Lisa

  1. That’s great, Lisa. It would have been even better to have embedded the live Twitter stream into the Library homepage. I guess we just don’t have enough room?

  2. Volume 40(2) of the 2012 Reference Services Review has several articles about the use of Twitter in academic libraries. These might be useful to the Marketing Group.
