Art Collections Curator – Jamie Hanton

I’m delighted to announce that Jamie Hanton has accepted the position of Art Collections Curator. He will start work on Thursday 23rd January 2014.

He’ll be visiting for a handover on Wednesday and Thursday next week before Lydia goes on parental leave.

Jamie is a curator and critic with a BA (Hons) in Art History and Theory from University of Canterbury. He has been working in the visual arts for the last seven years – the last two and half years as Director of Blue Oyster Art Gallery in Dunedin. He is a regular contributor to many publications including The Christchurch Press, The Listener, Art NZ and Landfall Online. In November – December of this year Jamie was engaged by Creative New Zealand as an exhibition attendant for the New Zealand Pavilion representing Bill Culbert at the prestigious Venice Biennale.
