OpenSSL vulnerability patch

This is more for the technical types, but with all the publicity about this vulnerability, it’s nice to know that ITS server group are onto the situation.

“We will be pushing out all pending patches for our managed Red Hat Linux machines at 3am tomorrow morning (11/4). The systems will be rebooted at 5am.
This patching has been brought forward to ensure the patch for the “heartbleed” OpenSSL vulnerability is released to all systems.

So far tests on our systems have not shown any to be vulnerable, but the patching is a precaution for a particularly bad vulnerability.
Any sites behind our BigIP reverse proxy appliances are not affected as the version of OpenSSL on these devices is not one of those impacted by this vulnerability.”
