Tēnā koutou katoa
The library managers are very keen to give support to those of you who would like to develop and maintain your skills in Te Reo Māori. Learning Te Reo helps us to support Māori students and staff, to help UC be a good Treaty partner and to treasure this beautiful and unique language of Aotearoa.
Many of you will now have attended courses and learned some Te Reo so we would like to offer sessions for you to practice what you have learned with your colleagues. These sessions will be open to all learners of Te Reo, from those who are proficient to those like myself who are just at the beginning of their journey. They will be informal, casual sessions that are run by the participants. This is recommended for those who have at least some very basic Te Reo skills (formal or self taught) but the only real requirement is a willingness to participate, give it a go and support your colleagues. Ideally we will have a mix of language levels. The sessions will be for one hour per month.
I would like to get an indication of how many people might be interested in participating in these sessions so I can book an appropriate sized venue and time (and chocolate biscuits!).
Please contact me at the following if you’re interested in participating then I will provide session details in another counterculture post.
