Hi all

ITS are pushing out a large Windows patch before Christmas.  As this takes 1-2 hours to install and will force a restart they are recommending that people log off instead of shutting down their PCs this evening so the updates can install over night.

If there is anyone in your work area who finished work before today it would be a good idea to turn on their PC’s so the updates can install on their machines too.

As some people will be leaving their pcs on this evening but won’t be returning to work before the Christmas break – could staff working on Wednesday next week please check the PCs in your work areas and make sure they are shut down before you leave for the Christmas break ?

Central customer services staff – can you please restart the Dayend PC either today or Monday/Tuesday next week to make sure it picks up the updates?  Best to pick a time where you won’t be needing to use it for a couple of hours as it will automatically restart again after it’s installed the updates.
