Hi all
Turns out my post last week RE logging off your PC to install updates was incorrect. These updates won’t install automatically until the early hours of 20th of January so logging off your PC won’t have worked.
The updates will install if you log off (but leave on) your PC on Tuesday 19th of January. But, if you want to install them beforehand (recommended) – do the following when you leave work on your first day back in January (you can also do it during the day if you won’t need to use your computer for a couple of hours – the updates will trigger a restart so will be disruptive if you are in the middle of doing something).
Installing updates at a convenient time
Click on the wee up arrow in the taskbar at the bottom right of your screen
Click on the box with green arrow icon (highlighted in screenshot below) and you should get the Configuration Manager pop up window. Select the Express option and click on install. The updates will take 1-2 hours to install and then restart your PC.
Kind Regards,
Romy
Hi Romy,
I don’t seem to have that icon. Is there another way to start the update? I looked in Windows Update in the Control panel but it says there are not new updates.
Cheers,
Nick
