New Library Course Booking System now live

Hi all

We have just gone live with the Library’s new course booking application – LibCal.  The “Book a Library Course” links on the library homepage have now been replaced with links going to the new booking homepage and booking site.  If anyone finds their way to the old site they’ll see a message directing them to the new one.

LibCal functions a bit differently from the old system (e.g. students will need to sign up with their UC email address and will no longer be able to log in to see the workshops they have booked in to) but is hopefully still intuitive and user-friendly.

To match our wording on the site we are now using the word “workshop” instead of “course” or “tutorial” to avoid confusion with UC courses/tutorials.

As we are still a few weeks away from peak booking season it would be great to get some staff feedback on the new system in case we can make any further improvements – please email feedback to me (romy.forrer@canterbury.ac.nz)

Thanks to everyone who has helped us get LibCal up and running 🙂

Romy

P.S.  I am still in the process of updating links to course booking in the wiki and subject guides, if you come across any links that need updating please let me know.

  1. NB – as the library 101 workshop dates are still being finalised we have hidden these for now. Once they’ve been confirmed these will show up on the LibCal homepage.
