People are stealing bikes. It would be nice if everyone could stop stealing bikes.

But on the odd chance that asking doesn’t do the job, we’re doing our best to solve the problem through other avenues. We’ve been in contact with the Police and UC Security, who have informed us that they are increasing their presence and patrols in the bicycle stand areas and have changed the CCTV camera angles to focus on the ‘risk spots’. There are three bike sheds on campus that can only be accessed with UC ID, please use those!

Today we made an order for 50 brand new, steel, as theft proof as possible, D bike locks. They normally sell for $60 at the store but the legends at Church Corner Cycles have talked to their suppliers, explained the situation and given us an amazing deal, so we’re bringing them to you for $15!

D-Locks are the most secure bike locks in the game and are incredibility hard to break. If you have concern over your bike and need a secure bike lock come into the office, show us a photo of your bike and we will sell you a D-Lock.

Obviously it’s not the solution to the problem, and it may only stop one student’s bike getting taken, but one student cruising around on a not-stolen BMX with a smile on is a start.
